July 21 2013 - From the world of scrap metal news - US H1 scrap average prices remain flat - Yieh reports that the average prices of the US’s H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia were at US$340.83/long ton on July 15th, 2013, remaining flat from a week ago. Among them, the average prices of H1 scraps in Pittsburgh were at US$349.5/long ton; those in Chicago were at US$354.5/long ton, and those in Philadelphia were at US$318.5/long ton, all keeping unchanged from the previous week. In other news - Japan’s H2 scrap average prices slide. Yieh reports that the average prices of Japanese H2 scrap in Kanto, Central and Kansai region were at ¥29,676/ton in the third week of July, falling by ¥178/ton from a week ago. Among them, the average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was at ¥30,783/ton, decreasing by ¥34/ton; that in Central region was at 27,620/ton, remaining flat and that in Kansai regions was at ¥30,624/ton, falling by ¥500/ton, all compared to the prices in the previous week.
